Stuart's exhibition at The Cut Arts Centre in Halesworth in 2005 was by invitation after the committee saw 'Eccentric Term' at the Norwich Fringe Festival in 2004. All work for The Cut was made in response to the situational context of viewership, including references to domestic architecture, the structure and interior detailing of the The Cut gallery and the skirting board used in the Herbert Read Gallery in Canterbury, for which the 'Red Paintings' were originally made. Stuart continued to explore painting in the extended field in the NNEP open exhibition: Salthouse 06.
